India Pi Network is a community marketplace and business directory built on the Pi Network ecosystem. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data with full transparency.
This policy describes exactly what information we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used — in the context of our marketplace, escrow system, business directory, and community features.
Information We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to operate the platform. This includes:
- Pi Network username — used for identification, authentication, and linking your activity (orders, listings, feedback) to your account.
- Pi UID — a unique identifier provided by the Pi Network SDK. Used internally to verify your identity during login and payment flows.
- Marketplace activity — products you list, orders you place or receive, and transaction status within our escrow system.
- Business listing details — if you submit a business to our directory: business name, category, description, contact details, and images you provide.
- Advertising requests — if you submit an advertising or promotion request: business information and preferred ad placement.
- Support messages — if you contact us via the Feedback & Support section: your message, type of inquiry, and Pi username.
- Session data — a temporary session cookie is used to keep you logged in during your visit. It expires when you close your browser.
We do not collect passwords, external payment credentials, national ID numbers, or any information beyond what is described above.
Pi Network Payments & Escrow
All payments on India Pi Network are processed exclusively through the Pi Network payment infrastructure. We do not handle Pi coins directly — payments are initiated through the official Pi SDK and held in escrow until both parties confirm the transaction.
Transaction records (order ID, amount in Pi, status, timestamps) are stored in our system to manage disputes, confirm deliveries, and maintain an accurate transaction history for buyers and sellers.
We do not have access to your Pi wallet private keys or any blockchain credentials.
How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate you via the Pi Network login flow
- To display and manage your marketplace listings and orders
- To process and track Pi payments through the escrow system
- To publish and manage your business directory listing
- To respond to support and feedback submissions
- To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or violations of our Terms of Use
- To improve platform performance and user experience
Sharing Information with Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing or commercial purposes.
Your data is shared only in the following limited circumstances:
- Pi Network — authentication and payment processing are handled through official Pi Network APIs. Pi Network's own privacy policy applies to those interactions.
- Counterparties in transactions — when you place or receive an order, your Pi username is visible to the other party as part of the transaction.
- Legal requirements — if required by applicable law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
Cookies & Session Storage
India Pi Network uses a single session cookie to maintain your logged-in state during your visit. This cookie:
- Contains no personally identifiable information
- Is set as HttpOnly and Secure — not accessible by JavaScript
- Expires automatically when you close your browser (session lifetime)
- Is invalidated server-side after 24 hours of inactivity
We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party analytics services.
Data Retention
We retain your data only as long as it is necessary for the purposes described above:
- Account & session data — session data is deleted on logout or browser close. Account-level data is retained while your account is active on the platform.
- Order & transaction records — retained to support dispute resolution and transaction history. These records are kept for a minimum of 12 months.
- Business listings — retained while the listing is active. Expired or removed listings are deleted from public view.
- Support messages — retained until the inquiry is resolved and for a reasonable period thereafter.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including:
- HTTPS encryption on all pages and API endpoints
- Secure, HttpOnly session cookies
- Hashed admin credentials — passwords are never stored in plain text
- Database access restricted to the application server only
- Admin panel protected with rate limiting and session timeouts

Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your data, subject to legal and operational obligations
